American Queen Anne Mirror

from CA$169.00

The Queen Anne period of furniture design was imported from Britain and made popular in North America during the early 19th century. Colonists who could afford it would pay for the work of skilled craftsmen for this furniture which was characterized by its decorative quality while maintaining an emphasis on structure. Other marked characteristics of this period include "S" curves, scallop and shell motifs.

Drawing its inspiration from this period, each American Queen Anne Mirror is lovingly hand-gilded as the traditional craftsmen would have done, using the water-gilding technique with genuine 12 karat gold leaf. The gold is applied in a way that mimics the natural aging of real antique mirrors from this time. The glass finished with a traditional scalloped edge and leather and solid brass hanging hardware to add a touch of American West to this classic design.

The American Queen Anne is available in 3 different sizes of 12" or 18" diameter round glass and 14” x 22” Oval. The 12" mirror is hung by a single leather strap while the 18" and 14” x 22” hangs by a double strap. Leather is available in Saddle Brown, Agave Green, Saffron Yellow, Desert Black, Moss Green & Black

*Wall hook / anchor not included
